Chautauqua week #2

These are the Graduation officials with the marching band that begins the parade.

Here is this years official Graduation photo.....I have one more level to go but thats 49 books so it might be 2 years before I get that last one.

My class ...just one of many.

After Graduation we march along the lake behind our class banners. The next day we were honored at a nice luncheon.

This was the vigil candlelight service for the new Graduates ( notice they wear white ).

There was an Animal Blessing Service but this year all the "animals" were dogs....as you can see the Minister loves dogs. More dog photos later.

I went to 2 Chautauqua Symphony concerts...both wonderful. The conductor is from the Toledo Symphony. Notice 2 harps...its a big group.

The Chautauqua Belle paddle wheel boat......a few members from my reading class all took a boat ride.

Outdoor Mass...for Terri and Don's 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Music is everywhere at Chautauqua...here a cello group plays in the square for donations. You come upon musicians playing all the time.

More dog blessing photos...out of order. I loved this guy....a miniature Lassie.

This little guy looks familiar. Its not Casey or he would have taken a chunk out of the Minister's nose.

The Miller Bell Tower.....the chimes master plays 4 times a day. One day my friend Kathy was asked to fill in. It was a very big deal to be asked to play the bells. I had to go to make sure she had photos.

The Chautauqua Choir sounds beautiful. Here they are doing a Sacred Songs concert titled "Global Christmas" ...just lovely.

Here is another Chautauqua friend Arlene who is the costume designer for the Dance department. This year she got a scooter to get around easier. I've been going to Chautauqua for 10 years now so I've gotten to know quite a few people from all over that I just see the weeks we are there. I would be so afraid on this scooter but she loves it.

You see this painter all over Chautauqua...I didn't want to bother her so I took a photo behind her. Her paintings are always large scenes.

The fancy Hotel dining room.

One day the Community Band was playing in the square. I took this shot from the Library balcony.

Everyone's favorite place...the fabulous Chautauqua Book Store.

A concert of Opera songs. Yes, I even liked this.

Thunder bridge always fun to cross.

I went to this class...titled "30 Ballet Steps Everyone Should Know "...Fun but Painful !

The "Big Friday Night Entertainment " this week was Clay Akin....... I left early.
And that was my week at Chautauqua.... I also saw a play and an Irish film. The arts are alive and well !
